CPWR is committed to addressing the suicide and overdose trends in the construction industry through both research and action. As part of our plan to drive change and save lives, we recently funded five small research studies. This webinar will cover the findings from three of those five projects. University of Iowa epidemiologist Dr. Jonathan Davis will share findings on the impact of employment laws on construction worker suicide, including whether workers with access to paid leave fare better than those without; Allison Weingarten of MDB, Inc. will share lessons learned from a project conducted with Local 1 of the International Union of Elevator Constructors on scaling up union-based peer support programs; and Edmund Robison with the Sheet Metal Occupational Health Institute Trust Inc. (SMOHIT) will talk about the naloxone training and access program that was piloted and distributed in collaboration with the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Union.
