About this Course
The AGC Safety Management Training Course (SMTC) provides attendees 24-hours of training on the basic skills needed to manage a company safety program in the construction industry.
The SMTC program builds on Focus Four training and prepares attendees to manage key safety issues on the job site and provides techniques for delivering basic safety training to field personnel.
Participants will receive intensive instruction and training that will allow them to return to their firms with readily applicable new skills to positively impact their company’s safety and health program.
After completing this course, students receive a Certificate of Completion, a digital badge to share and up to 2.2 IACET CEUs.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the principles of workplace accident investigations.
- Review the OSHA inspection process.
- Examine the principles of fall protection management.

Technology and Participation
For the classroom:
- Please have Zoom downloaded.
- Computer with dual monitor preferred.
- Laptop is good with a separate tablet to access the materials.
For participation:
- This safety course requires you to be stationary. NO driving during the course is permitted.
- Camera, either built in or added on and ready to stream to the classroom.
- Headphones or earbuds with microphones are preferred.
- Computer/device mic and speakers are ok if in private, quiet room.
- Each student should be on their own computer/laptop/tablet, if possible.
Professional Development Credit
AGC’s Safety Management Training Course offers participants up to 24 hours of professional development with the opportunity to receive the following continuing education credits (CEUs):
2.3 IACET CEUs | The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and offers IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training.
- Attend the course for at least 95% of instruction time.
- Complete the course assessment via the AGC Learning Center with a score of 75% or greater.
Primary Venue
Classes are held in a live virtual classroom using Zoom.
